Born from a scratchy demo in 1994, the idea of a Black Sabbath & Ozzy tribute band was thought upon. An epic journey later saw the band of originally four members grow to 13. An Ozzy/Sabbath tribute night proved a success so, not to miss an opportunity, Phil & the original bassist, Evil, asked for the help of a down at heel tub-thumper: Ed The Slouch. As with the real Ozzy band, a number of guitarists have been drafted in to complete the line-up of the Mighty Ozzbest, Si joining in June 04. Recently Evil left the band and Sasquatch Bob was brought in.

With an average age of just 38 yet each member has 20 years+ playing experience, Ozzbest deliver an exciting stage performance: their love of Ozzy songs really shines through.

NAME: Phil 'Chancer' Blackwell

There are two versions of this story. One version unfolds thusly: Phil sang on a demo track in the dim & distant past. When this demo was released everybody who heard it thought it was actually Ozzy singing. Then the idea for a tribute band was born. The second version of this story is this: Phil is a complete chancer, who is only in the band because he has a van. And a P.A. NAME: Si Stather

Draughed in by Ed, he is currently enjoying the different guitarist styles. Currently trying (possibly unsuccessfully) to prevent this band from acting like Spinal Tap. He is excited by the bands current successes and has to laugh when everyone follows his solos. For the record he doesn't prefer one guitarist over another, although he thinks Iommi is the best (he he).

Sasquatch Bob, the legend. Manages to look like Geezer, Bill and Tony in one. Popular with the fans.

 

NAME: Ed 'Ward' Greaves
DRINK OF CHOICE: Bourbon
SONG: Over The Mountain

Also know as "The Housewives Choice", Ed has spent many years in the rock and roll wilderness, due to his penchant for alcohol, herbs and boats. Upon his death, his last remaining kidney is being split in two: one half to medical science and the other half is being returned to the James B. Beam distillery in Kentucky USA.
His claim to fame is that his kit once set alight whilst playing. Rumours concerning the spillage of his drink at the time are exaggerated.
