“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (short: LDS) is a religion predominantly found amongst Mormons. A Mormon baptism differs from the traditional baptism and the person is immersed in water. Those who seek eternal life must be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

In Mormon Religion and according to the Latter-day Saints beliefs, babies and children are protected by the mercy of Christ and may not be baptized until they reach an age of accountability, which according to the bible is set at 8 years.

Mormon baptisms are also performed on adults. Here are some examples of texts you can use for your invitation, be it for a younger or older persons' baptism invite.

Invitation Templates for the Christening of a Baby

Baptism Invitations: 34 Templates + 6 Tips to Create a Card (10)

Invitation Templates for the Christening of a Baby

The word christening is often used interchangeably with the word baptism. There are slight differences, however. Christening can be understood as a holy naming ceremony. At a christening, the babies godparents are present and stand alongside, making promises and wishes on behalf of the baptized child.

In the process of christening, water is being sprinkled over the baby’s head, which is an act of initiation into the church. The term christening is most used when baptizing babies or young children. Have a Christening coming up? Here are some ideas for your invite texts.

Poem about a Baby’s Baptism

Two little feet moving away,
two little ears that hear the word,
a little creature with eyes that see,
That’s the creation, it makes us understand.
Two little arms, two hands on them,
that’s a miracle to see.
We don’t know what life will bring you,
we will help, that much succeeds.

5)

It’s a miracle, says the heart,
it’s a great responsibility, says the mind,
it’s a lot of worry, says fear,
it is the greatest happiness, says love,
it’s a child, says the mind.

How to Create Baptism Invitation Cards

Baptism Invitations: 34 Templates + 6 Tips to Create a Card (16)

How to Create Baptism Invitation Cards

Your invitation cards will always be well received by the guests if they are lovingly created with a lot of heart and soul. It adds a personal touch and the receiver will most likely want to keep it. You can be creative here, and decorate your cards with ribbons or ornaments, for example.

If you make your cards yourself, it means more work than simply buying baptism invitation cards. Making them is worth it, though, it’s not only fun to do but will also remind your guests of the memorable event. Make sure to choose a nice font or handwrite your personalized invitations.

Apart from the external design, the text in and on the card is also of great importance. This should be creative and informative at the same time.

Make sure not to miss any important detail and always include: baby name, parents names, location, time, and date and any special requirements such as dress code or things to bring along.

Ideas for making Baptism Invitation Cards

Ideas for making Baptism Invitation Cards

If you have already decided on a baptismal symbol, such as the baptismal candle, you can also insert this into your card. For a homemade card, you can easily use dried flowers, to create a stunning and unique invitation.

To do this, place them on the front of the card with a string tied together and glue them to it. Alternatively, you can score the card in the middle and stick the flowers in there.

It is best to use clay paper in the color you want for your personalized invite. For this purpose, pink cards are usually used for female gender, and blue colors are traditionally used for male gender. Soft pastel blues and pinks are ideally suited for a baptism invitation card.

They are also easily decorated with adorable ornaments in the form of little sea stars, shells or fish, for example.

Instead of writing the cards by hand, you can design them on the computer and print them out. You can be creative and try out pink and blue font colors to match your card.

If you have a particularly beautiful handwriting, you can of course also write your invitations by hand. Pay attention to using a high quality pen in a nice color, to make your calligraphy stand out even more and avoid smudging.
